What are spare rooms in a home often used for? Storing music collections, hiding winter coats and keeping Christmas decorations out of sight. There is that period in everybody’s calendar though where family and friends visit and a place to lay their head is required. Rush forward a need to hide every single one of these items in every nook and cranny available. Does it have to be this way though? The answer is no, and this is why.
More Than Just A Sofa Bed
Consider your own room, how much space does your bed take up? It is highly likely that your bed takes up over half the space available. This though is OK, as this is your room where relaxation and getting a good nights sleep is of main consideration. In a spare room though this should not be the main area of thinking. Once a sofa bed is in full storage mode the use of the rest of the room is entirely up to you and no longer are you bound by the shackles of a standard bed. Just picture it for a second. This bed may only be required for a few days of the year, for the rest of that time you have a perfectly good sofa to utilize at your own leisure.
Don’t Stop There
OK, so we are all guilty of throwing everything under the bed, from decorating equipment to holiday clothing. What a sofa bed does though, is enable you to get creative and look at other storage potential. The luxury of throwing everything under the bed has gone so what should you do? Utilize space around the walls, think floating shelves for books and ornamental pieces. The days of cluttering have gone therefore items on display will only be the essential decorative pieces. Forget about putting an old TV in the corner for visitors to shun, get modern and get mounted. This immediately frees up space which once would have been dedicated to the old style box TV.
A sofa bed is the epitome of multifunctional furniture as it has the ability to perform two roles. Keeping in theme, the rest of your storage should be along the same lines. Ottomans are perfectly designed to keep household objects out of sight and out of mind, but remember they can make perfectly good seats if required. This mind set should be included with wardrobes, again the bottom of a wardrobe can at best of times be left to their own devices where a whole manner of things can be left there for year to come. Why not place your chest of draws within the wardrobe, therefore ensuring you keep your household items in some working order.
It’s important to remember with any furniture that size, design and style, luckily SofaSofa have many to choose from which will create you space and become a stylish permanent fixture within your home.
